The HKCPD International Conference 2020 for English teaching professionals worldwide will be held from 10-12 June 2020 with pre-conference workshops and events from 8-9 June 2020.

We are optimistic that the outbreak will be largely over by the time of the conference in June 2020. We are monitoring the development of the situation. In the unfortunate event that the conference has to be postponed, any registration fees paid in advance will be refunded. However, the conference organisers are not responsible for any refund of accommodation and flight bookings.
You need to pay when submitting your online booking. At the end of your registration you will have the option to pay online. However, any registration fees paid in advance will be refunded in the event that the Conference needs to be postponed. Note that registration fee is not transferrable to other parties.
The registration fee includes a pass for the whole conference (including pre-conference workshops and campus visits ), snacks, drinks, lunches and cultural events during the Conference and the Conference Reception. See details at https://hkcpdhub.hku.hk/conference2020/registration/
For groups of 6 or more participants from institutions not funded by the Hong Kong University Grants Committee can get a 10% discount rate. Please contact us at email@example.com with details of group size before 31st March 2020. Fees for group registrations must be paid in full at the time of registration.
Unfortunately, single day registration is not available.

Once you have registered and paid, an electronic receipt will be sent to the email address you used for registering. That receipt confirms your registration and payment.
Invitation letters are only for overseas delegates who require an invitation to assist with their travel visa application. Please contact us at email@example.com if you need an invitation letter.
We’re sorry but registration fees, whether by individual or on behalf of a group, are not refundable.
All attendees and speakers will have a certificate of attendance. This will be an ‘e-certificate’ to align with the ‘green theme’ of this conference. More details about how you will get your e-certificate will be announced closer to the conference.
Unfortunately, the deadline to submit a speaker proposal was Sunday 12 January 2020.
While delegates might want to travel with their family to Hong Kong during the conference, we don’t recommend that children are brought to the conference.
We are sorry but we do not offer any childcare facilities for delegates.
There will be vegetarian options available at all meals.
The easiest way is by the Mass Transit Railway (MTR). Catch the Airport Express to Hong Kong Station. Then it’s a short walk to Central Station, and take the train on the Island Line to HKU Station. The whole journey to HKU will take about 45 minutes and costs about HKD120. For more travel questions, we suggest you look at our travel page.
Computers with Microsoft Windows 10 and Microsoft Office, LCD and computer projectors, visualizer, DVD Playback and microphones are included in each session room. For more details, please look at our Guidelines for presentations.
Our organisers have been to many conferences over the years and have been disappointed by the amount of waste generated by conferences. In the HKCPD 2020 Conference we intend to minimise the amount of waste generated and reduce the amount of plastics. Measures we are taking include:
- An online programme rather than a printed programme
- A stationary corner where participants can collect stationary if and when they need it
- E-certificates rather than printed certificates
- Plastic free eating utensils where possible
- Bring your own bottle initiative for participants
We hope that participants will support us in this initiative and help us have a greener conference and generate less waste.
