4 Types of Presentations

Paper Presentation

25 minutes
1-3 presenters
A formal presentation on on-going or completed research in relation to theory and practice

Workshop

50 minutes
1-4 presenters
A hands-on session tackling an issue, or developing a specific teaching or research technique

Colloquium

50 minutes
3-6 presenters
Multiple, short presentations on a current topic in relation to research and practice and discussion of it with the audience

Interactive Showcase

50 minutes
1-4 presenters
Sharing of innovative and practical ideas or demonstration of teaching materials by presenters who are stationed around the Showcase. Audience will be free to visit each stand as they wish. The presenters interact with the audience through a combination of handouts, posters and other realia. Each stand consists of a poster board and a table only; presenters may display any materials they like on their stand and bring their own laptop with a presentation or interactive activities. Please bear in mind that the audience will want to visit several stands in 50 minutes. Presenters should enable interaction with their display and set things up in a way that allows the audience to drop in and move on as and when they wish.

Publication

A selection of contributions presented at the Symposium will be published in an edited book on
best practices in English teaching and learning in Hong Kong higher education intended for an international publisher.
Deadline for submission of full papers for consideration for publication is 31 December 2018.
